A low-pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal. A low-pressure area has formed in the northwest Bay of Bengal in the wee hours today. Though the rainfall in Kerala will decrease today and tomorrow, the low pressure is likely to cause another spell of rain from Friday.
The low-pressure area, which recovered last week, continues to be a cyclonic circulation over southwest Rajasthan. It will enter Pakistan tomorrow. A low-pressure path has also formed from this cyclonic vortex to the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal. As per the report of the previous day, rainfall is likely to intensify over east and central India after two days.
Here's how there is a possibility of rain in Kerala
Kerala will receive rainfall as part of the low pressure from Friday evening. The southern districts will receive rainfall. Rainfall in north Kerala today and tomorrow will be relatively less than in the previous days. The low pressure in Kerala will not cause heavy rains. Isolated heavy rains should be expected after Friday.
It will rain in the east
Rainfall is likely to occur over Odisha, West Bengal and coastal Andhra Pradesh. There will also be rain in Kerala. More rains are expected in north and central Kerala. The low-pressure area, which is expected to form tomorrow, will move in a westerly direction. Bihar and Jharkhand regions are also likely to receive heavy rainfall in the next two days.
Rainfall deficiency in Kerala has reduced
As of today, the rainfall deficiency in Kerala has come down to 39 per cent. From June 1 to September 20, Kerala is expected to receive 1935 mm of rainfall. However, the state has received 1186.2 mm of rainfall so far. All districts except Pathanamthitta have deficient rainfall.
